Soul Ventures

Our aim in establishing Soul Ventures Maritime Pacific is to bring a sense of adventure back into Christian Missions, both here in New Zealand and in the Pacific.

We believe the most effective means of providing aid and assistance is through small teams of volunteers offering their time and expertise for a particular project. Examples of this include building, economic and community redevelopment, medical clinics, healthcare and other training. 

This method of assistance provides mutual encouragement to local missions and missionaries, and to the men and women who give their time to go and serve.

Our aim is to assist with practical skills, but our whole purpose is one of coming alongside to support, encourage and pass on skills to the local people. We want to empower them, not take over.

The Vessel

Since transport is always a major obstacle in the Pacific, travel by sailing vessel is still the most practical and economic solution. Once funds have been raised and a suitable vessel is acquired, we will begin taking training voyages so that volunteers can get familiar with the vessel and gain sailing experience.
